Mayor

Dear Sir

Enclosed you have fifty dollars for the sufferers by the late fire in your city, donated by Morris Brothers and Trowbridge Minstrels.

They were in Portland, preparing to perform at the time of the fire, and the fire prevented them, which to them, was a serious loss, the whole company being an expense, etc.
