Abstract

"Edge" piece on Flying Horse, a literary journal edited by University of Southern Maine Professor David Wagner. The first issue of Flying Horse was published last week, and includes stories, poems and artwork by 25 contributors from around the country. The journal's statement of purpose says it is trying to give voice to those often excluded from the dominant media, and welcomes submissions from prisons, homeless shelters, unions and elsewhere. More than half the contributors to the first issue are incarcerated.
