Abstract

state representative Herb Adams filed his nominating petitions for a vacant seat on the Portland School Committee after the deadline, and city officials are trying to decide whether to accept the petitions. Adams was the only candidate filing, after Erik Richards dropped out of the race. If city officials accept the petitions, Adams would serve out the final seven months of Michael Riff's term.
