"Edge" piece on the Portland Symphony Orchestra, which lost its venue at Portland City Hall Auditorium when the $7.2 million renovation of the auditorium began in February 1995. The past two seasons have brought lower concert subscription sales, wavering audience support and higher production costs. The PSO is planning on its return to City Hall Auditorium in March to rebuild its audience and stabilize its budget. The PSO had a $140,000 budget shortfall in 1994-95, and is facing a projected shortfall of $200,000 this year. Details.
