Abstract

Central Maine Power Co. (CMP) has a contract with Regional Waste Systems (RWS) to purchase power from the RWS incinerator, and the two parties are in negotiations to reduce the price of the power. CMP last year renegotiated its contract with Maine Energy of Biddeford, and Charles Foshay of RWS said he would like a similar deal. CMP wants to reduce the amount it pays RWS from the current 7.8 cents per kilowatt hour to the market rate of around 5.2 cents per kwh. Details.
