Abstract

"Politics and Other Mistakes" column on diatribes from legislators on controversial topics. Former state legislator Emilien Levesque has admitted to sending an anonymous threat to Rep. Elizabeth Watson because of her opposition to the ban on late-term abortions. State representative Benjamin Rines claimed fellow legislator Adam Mack, who is Jewish, was promoting hate and Hitlerism by opposing civil rights for gays. In contrast, former U.S. senator George Mitchell seems to have no opinion at all in his current legal defense of tobacco companies.
