Abstract

Feature article on Peaks Island and some of the artists who call the island home. The artists include Doreen McCann, Chris Moore, Nancy 3. Hoffman, Avner Eisenberg, Michael Levine, Elizabeth Buchsbaum, Anne Sibley O'Brien, and others. Nine members of the Maine Writers & Publishers Alliance live on Peaks, and there are 13 islanders on the Maine Artists Registry of the Maine Arts Commission. Brief history of Peaks Island, discussing Peaks as a small town and what that means for outsiders and newcomers to the island.
