Abstract

Portland last fall found numerous code violations at the Arnie Hanson Center on India Street. The city now plans to inspect all homeless shelters and emergency residences on a monthly basis. The Maine State Housing Authority recently decided to review all shelters that it funds, including eight in Portland.
