Abstract

"Nocturnal Emissions" piece on The Penguin, which was ordered closed by the city of Portland. University of Southern Maine student Richard Hendsbee fell off the Casco Bay Bridge and was killed, after he had been drinking there. Former owner Dan Roberts was banned from managing a bar in Portland, and new owners from New Hampshire have resurrected the bar, which remains essentially the same.
