Abstract

A recapitulation of the battle between the U. S. Postal Service, which wants to build a distribution center on an ecologically sensitive Rand Road site in Portland, and the city, which has begun the process of taking the land by eminent domain to prevent construction. The Lewiston-Auburn area is trying to attract the plant, but postal workers have expressed opposition to such a move.
