Abstract

A history of St. Lawrence Church on Portland's Munjoy Hill, which was purchased by Deidre Nice and partner in 1993, when the 100-year old structure was almost past saving. Nice and Portland attorney Bill Milliken, her new partner, are working to save the building. Piecemeal, and against the predictions of skeptics, the church is slowly being repaired. A feasibility study by Burl Hash is due out soon, presenting prospects for its still uncertain future. Details.
