Abstract

"from the outside" piece on "outing," which is the act of revealing a closeted gay person's homosexuality. While the author agrees that no one should "out" a private citizen, she argues that closeted gay or lesbian members of the media have a responsibility to either come out themselves or risk being outed by someone else, because they have the ability to effect so much positive change.
