Abstract

"City" piece on an unidentified Portland teacher's volunteer efforts to solicit donated school supplies from parents. Portland School Committee member Herb Adams, who referred to the situation in an attempt to get more school budget money for supplies, inadvertently prompted school officials to stop the practice.
