Abstract

The closing of Tom Crotty's Frost Gully Gallery and the announcement on March 20 that the Oak Street Theatre will soon close have left people asking who is to blame for the difficulties now being faced by the Portland arts community, and what can be done to save the Portland Arts District. With a brief note of the "Close with Diginity Campaign," which hopes to raise enough money to "mop up" the Oak Street Theatre's debts before group using the facility dissolves on July 31.
