Abstract

"City" piece on the Porthole Restaurant located on Portland's Custom House Wharf. City officials have shut down the restaurant's new outdoor deck because they say it violates the city's working waterfront ordinance. Oliver Keithley, owner of the Comedy Connection on the same wharf, bought the Porthole five months ago and the city initially gave him a permit for the deck. But officials say that was because Keithley supplied information that is now being challenged.
