Abstract

Mary Lou Crane of the federal Department of Housing and Urban Development was in Portland May 26 to discuss the Clinton administration's new plan to combat homelessness. Under the plan, Portland will receive an increase in federal homeless assistance, from the current $531,000 to $1.2 million. The plan calls for giving cities more local control over how they spend the federal dollars.
