Abstract

"City" piece reporting that Shaw's Supermarket's much ballyhooed "Reward Card" really doesn't save the shopper a great deal of money. Casco Bay Weekly checked the prices on 13 basic items at Shaw's Westgate store on Nov. 19. Without the Reward Card, the bill totaled $25.57 and $23.29, using the card. The total cost for the same items at Shop 'n Shops store on Forest Avenue was $22.44 using no card at all.
