Abstract

"City" piece on the New Mainers Mentoring Project (NMMP), which helps immigrants go from dead-end jobs to careers where they could use their education and professional training. Expected to begin this summer, NMMP is sponsored by Portland's Department of Health and Human Services' Social Services division, and is also organized by a community collaborative of business, social service and education leaders called the Community Improvement Through Employment (CITE) project.
