Abstract

"Newsreal" piece on Unum Corp.'s request for a $10 million tax break. The Portland City Council's Community Development Committee on July 25 voted 3-0 to endorse the plan, and City Manager Robert Ganley says the proposal holds no disadvantages for the city. Don Meehan of the Portland Taxpayers' Association disagrees, and will recommend that his association oppose the Unum tax break. Details.
