Abstract

The Portland Sea Dogs are in last place in the Eastern League's Northern Division, but the double-A minor league team is leading the league in attendance, with an average of 5,300 fans a game. Through August 1 the team had drawn 280,000 fans, and needs to attract just 40,000 more to break the league attendance record. Team General Manager Charlie Eshbach says the Hadlock Field might need to be expanded, and notes that another 150 to 200 box seats could be added on the first base side.
