Abstract

"Politics and Other Mistakes" piece on the Maine Clean Election Act and campaign finance reform, predicting that by November, the state ballot may not contain a single gubernatorial candidate of any significance who is publicly financed. The candidates focused on include Democrats John Baldacci, Republicans Peter Cianchette and Jim Libby, Green Independent Party candidates Jonathan Carter and Steve Farsaci, and independent David Flanagan.
