Abstract

"City" piece on Tom Roche, a security guard at the Cumberland County Courthouse in Portland, who is seeking the Democratic nomination for Cumberland County sheriff. Roche has been called on the carpet by court administrator Ted Glessner because campaigning for political office on court premises is not allowed. With comments by incumbent Cumberland County sheriff Mark Dion in response to Roche's criticisms of how the Dion runs the jail, and Dion's decisions to switch from the Republican Party to independent status and then to the Democratic Party.
