Abstract

"Cover Story" piece on the debate over universal health care in Maine. With comments by individuals who oppose, and others who support, universal health care based on their experiences while living in countries that provide universal health care. Also with details about the four major health insurance companies that still operate in the state, and with special focus on the Health Security Board, which was created by the Legislature to investigate how a single-payer system would look and how it could work in Maine.
