Abstract

"City" piece on a Portland City Council vote that will allow the Portland Downtown District (PDD) to sell beer during its "Alive at Five" summer concert series, which will be held on six consecutive Thursdays in the city's Monument Square. The six shows could each draw up to 1,000 people. If there are problems at the first event on July 11, the PDD has promised to discontinue selling beer.
