Maine.net was the first company to offer local Internet access to residents of Portland, but the firm is now out of business. Several other Internet providers recently set up business, including Bangor-based Agate Internet Services Inc., Mainestreet, Northern Lights, Portland Internet Corp. and PSI of Virginia. Details.
