Abstract

Question 6 on the November 2 ballot deals with the proposed low-level nuclear waste compact with Texas, which will allow Maine's waste producers to store their waste at a dump site in the west Texas desert. Opponents of the measure believe Maine Yankee, the state's largest producer of nuclear waste, must come up with a better plan for disposing of its waste. Details.
