Abstract

In 1997, Bud Warren established the nonprofit group Maine's First Ship to construct a replica of the Virginia of Sagadohoc, which had landed on the Sagadohoc River in 1607, when Maine was still of part of Virginia, and began a 400-year tradition of Down East shipbuilding.
