Abstract

Only a few minutes from L. L. Bean in Freeport is Wolfe's Neck Woods State Park, which is one of Maine's sweetest and emptiest state parks with five miles of well-maintained crisscrossing trails. The 233-acre park, which occupies a small peninsula that juts out into Casco Bay, is an unexpected expanse of woods, ledges, and tidal zone.
