Abstract

Article on the rescue of the 147-foot, three-master schooner "Joseph Luther," John Francis, captain, which crashed into Whaleback Rock off Georgetown in January 1901. The crew from Hunnewell Beach Life Saving Station managed to rescue the six men aboard, but it was one of those six men, Gussie Hodgkins, who risked his life to save the ship's cat, Hunnie.
