Abstract

"North by East" piece about Ron Masure and his partners in T-M Corporation in Greenville who unsuccessfully sought to give away the old fifty-four room hotel at the once famous Kineo resort on Moosehead Lake to anyone who could renovate it. The partners believed the restoration of the hotel was key to their attempts to attempts to sell the rest of the 200-acre, $1.5 million resort, with its golf course, clubhouse and building lots. There were 300 inquiries concerning the give-away offer, but those who could afford to restore the hotel were unsure as to whether they wanted to do it, and those who were sure, didn't have the money. Masure and his partners have decided sell the hotel for salvage this spring to sell the property for whatever they can get.
