Abstract

"Talk of Bar Harbor" piece about Bar Harbor and the passenger ships visited there. The trade started with the German passenger ship Kronprinzessin Cecile in 1914, and continues today. The Queen Elizabeth 2, first visited the Bar Harbor in 1981 and is expected visit again this year. According to Virginia Farnsworth, director of the Bar Harbor Chamber of Commerce, forty-one cruise ships stopped for a day or overnight last year, carrying 45,618 passengers and 17,478 crew members.
