Abstract

"Along the Waterfront" piece about Capt. Marc Brent of the Bar Harbor Whale Watch Company, who has just taken delivery of a new, twin-hulled, aluminum whale-watching vessel, Friendship IV. The $1.5 million vessel is a 92-foot catamaran with a beam of nearly thirty feet. Friendship IV can seat all 194 passengers and will be the filrst boat on the Maine coast at twenty-six knots. It will be able to get to the whale grounds, about 33-miles offshore, in just half the time it took Friendship III to get there.
