Abstract

"Along the Waterfront" piece reporting that the Maine Seacoast Mission, which has served island and other communities of the Down East coast for the past eighty-nine years, is building a new "floating church" called the Sunbeam V. The vessel, designed by John W. Gilbert Inc. of Boston, will be launched this fall at the Washburn and Doughty yard in East Boothbay. The vessel will be 75-feet long overall, with a 21-foot beam, and a 5-foot-6 inch draft. Her speed is expected to be 10 or 11 knots. With brief details.
