Abstract

Article about the the auction held in Mount Vernon on July 1 and 2 of last year, at which a 200-year accumulation of Blake family possessions were sold off. Among the items sold from the old farm on Blake Hill Road, was a grandfather clock by Jonas Fitch, an American flag with only a smattering of stars, an 1840 broadside for a Whig party caucus, and a 1927 Ford Model T roadster, still in running condition.
