Abstract

"North by East" piece on the Black Bear license plate, dedicated exclusively to the University of Maine in Orono, which made its debut in October. The plate is the first one devoted to an individual campus, and in the first three weeks after the plate was released, only 147 of the new tags were sold. The specialty plate is one of over fifty that already adorn Maine cars and trucks.
