Abstract

"Inside Maine" piece about a new locomotive and ten cars acquired in June by the Belfast & Moosehead Lake Railroad, headed by president Rod Rodrigue. The 77-year-old locomotive, acquired from the Swedish State Railroad, was one of 100 steam engines Sweden had refurbish and stored away forty years ago at the height of the Cold War as part of the country's strategic reserve. The locomotive arrived in Searsport in June, along with 1960s-era rail cars recently removed from service.
