Abstract

Long article describes the most recent plans to return the eastern timber wolf to Maine. The plan to bring back the wolf has been in place since 1978, when the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service first designated Maine as one of the few areas in the eastern United States suitable for hosting a wolf population. This position was restated in 1992, and although nothing positive has come of it, support for return of the wolf is noted. Details.
