Abstract

Short article describes the thirty-first northern voyage of the veteran arctic schooner Bowdoin, a nine week, 4,500-mile trip from Castine to Newfoundland and on to Greenland. The schooner was built for Admiral Donald MacMillan, and used for his twenty-seven arctic trips. It was purchased by the Maine Maritime Academy in 1988.
