Abstract

Article on the difficulties of raising both children and plants in the same yard, wondering, in tongue-in-cheek fashion, what is the appropriate parental response to a row of trampled tomatoes. The author's two-year-old son, Tristan Grant, took up golfing as a toddler, using the yard and a variety of garden plants and pots as learning tools.
