Abstract

"Dining Down East" piece on Le Domaine, on Route 1 in Hancock, which has been in the same spot for 50 years, offering some of the finest French cooking in Maine. It is operated by Nicole Purslow, whose mother, a refugee from World War II Europe and the daughter of just such an innkeeper, founded the inn. Set on 100 acres, the inn has a 5,000-bottle wine cellar and food that draws people from far beyond the local neighborhood.
