Abstract

"Along the Waterfront" piece on George Marks, a mechanical engineer, sailor, and boatbuilder, who collaborated with British designer Paul Fisher on a sampan-type hull. He uses the stable sloop for the free sail-training program he offers in Rockland. He sells the construction plans for what he calls Salty's GFB 16 (Great Fun Boat).
