Abstract

"North by East" piece reporting that at a time when towns such as Portland, Biddeford, and Sebago face fragmentation because of secessionist fervor, the towns of Boothbay and Boothbay Harbor, which went their separate ways mor than a century ago, are taking a serious look at reuniting. The arguments for reuniting are more practical than philosophical. Reunion would eliminate costly duplication of services, such as town administrators and office staffs.
