Article on pet inhabitants of Augusta's Blaine House, including: Peanuts, a tame squirrel who, in the early 1940s joined Gov. Louis Barrows every day for lunch; the dogs and pony of Gov. Horace Hildreth; a black-bear cub owned for a short time in the early 1930s by the family of Gov. William Tudor Gardiner; Garry Owen, Gov. Percival Baxter's Irish setter; and others.
