Abstract

An article on the Maine Iris Show, held each June in Auburn, and sponsored by a "sociable aggregation of folks" known as the Maine Iris Society. The audience is drawn largely from the small towns of central Maine. The flower, known as "the poor man's orchid," is a quintessential part of the Maine garden scene.
