Abstract

"North by East" piece on how Bowdoin College in Brunswick is looking for a gargoyle sculptor to fashion a replacement for the gargoyle that had adorned the roof of Hubbard Hall since 1901 until it was removed because of deterioration. A number of artists responded to the school's request for formal proposals.
