Abstract

Profile of wild-animal specialist Dave Sparks, 54, of Windham, who runs Sparks Ark Animal Emergency Services and is the go-to person in the Greater Portland area for removing bothersome skunks. He removes between 100 and 200 skunks a year and only gets sprayed once or twice. Experts use hydrogen peroxide, baking soda, and liquid detergent to get rid of the skunk odor, but the only really effective solution is time. With details on how to avoid "aromatic accidents" when dealing with skunks.
