Abstract

"Inside Maine" piece on archeologists from Bar Harbor's Abbe Museum, who in August will be searching for the site of a Wabanaki village on the shore of the Saco River in Biddeford. French explorer Samuel de Champlain called the village Chouacoet and supposedly visited it in 1604. Participation in the dig is open to the general public for a fee.
