Abstract

A dedicated group called the Maine Troop Greeters has gathered almost every day at any hour, for the past three years, to welcome and applaud American troops coming and going from Bangor International Airport. The 127 greeters are almost all 50- and 60-something veterans and their wives, led by 84-year-old Bill Knight, who attends every flight and is the only original greeter left.
