Abstract

"The Talk of Maine" piece on the upcoming U.S. Senate race between Maine's senior congressman, Portland Democrat Tom Allen, and incumbent Republican senator Susan Collins of the 2nd District. The race is shaping up to be the most expensive political campaign in the state's history and has attracted national attention because Collins is perceived as vulnerable because of her past support for the Bush administration and the Iraq war.
