Abstract

An article on Maine humor and Maine humorists, including the late Marshall Dodge III, Tim Sample, Susan Poulin, John McDonald, Bob Marley, and the world's first stage comedian, Maine native Charles Farrar Brown, who wrote and performed under the name Artemus Ward. Much of Maine humor revolves around the differences between Mainers and people "from away."
